Captains Prize Results
John Bergin proved a very popular winner of Mr. Noel Rothwell’s Captain’s prize which concluded on Saturday last. John had shot a score of 69 in the first round the previous weekend. Lying in joint third place, he knew would have to shoot a similar score to have any chance of winning the coveted prize.
John played a steady round all through and birdied the 12th. Standing on the last tee John needed a par to ensure victory. In the backbunker in three, he played a brilliant shot to get up and down for par
thus ensuring a great victory with a score of 68 and a grand total of137. J.D. Harding came home in second position on 140 with the gross going to Jason Brennan.
Padraig Curry took the top student prize on 140.
