Cullen Cup semi final V Dun Laoghaire GC
The club Cullen cup mixed foursomes team played Dunlaoghaire in Baltinglass in the semi final of this competition on Sunday 24th of August.The match consisted of four match play games over eighteen holes. The Castlecomer team put up a great performance in all of the matches, before eventually losing out by the narrowest of margins to a very strong Dun Laoghaire team.The Castlecomer team won one match and had halved a second match, before losing the remaining two games on the final hole of play.The team were unlucky not to get through to the final after playing some high standard golf in all the games.Hard luck to team managers Seamus O’Connor and Betty Owens and all the team panel players on the day.The team had represented the club with great distinction throughout the competition and did extremely well to reach the semi final stages. Team members were: Ned Mahon and Nuala Mahon, Mark O’ Dowda and Joan Brennan, Keith O’Neill and Theresa Manning, Seamus O’Connor and Hannah Kelly.
