An extremely busy weekend at Castlecomer GC this week, and a hugely successful one also. The weekend started off on a positive note with the Fred Daly team winning over Callan in the first round of the competition and this trend continued over Saturday and Sunday. Fred Daly trophy.Castlecomer under eighteen team played Callan golf club in a first round match on Friday the 15th May.The match was constituted of five singles match play games off scratch. As Castlecomer had the benefit of receiving a home draw this was to prove important in the eventual result. The home players won all three home matches and with Castlecomer winning another game away in Callan it proved to be a very decisive victory. The standard of golf was exceptional from players of both teams at each venue. Castlecomer players at home were Adam Phelan, JohnJoe Buggy and Billy Rowe.Away players were, Eoin Healy and Charlie Ryan. Congratulations to the players and Team Manager Del Todd.
