Our Castlecomer team played Waterford in a fourth round match on Sunday. The competition format where two fourball matches are played in each club it often produces close and exciting games. This proved to be case as the matches were shared evenly in Waterford .Castlecomer then needed to win one and a half points at home to a achieve victory.Victor Smyth and Michael Daly duly won their match convincingly to leave the team then just requiring a half in the final match. This was delivered in an exciting match as Ciaran Kelly and Marty o Shea rallied from two down to eventually share their match with a birdie on the 18th green. This ensured victory for the team and qualifies them for the regional quarter finals. Team players away were Michael Dermody and Andy Cleere,Ned Mahon and Seamus o Connor.
