Saturday it was the turn of our Men’s Leinster Trophy team who faced a strong Carlow team in the first round. With the away draw things were always going to be tough, but this team has doughty performers and Ciaran Kelly secured the all important away point, winning on the 14th hole in Carlow. Also on the away team were Marty O’ Shea, JohnJoe Buggy and Mark O’ Dowda, Mark was called in on 17 while JohnJoe and Marty have had better days on the course and will surely have them again. At home there was a blend of youth and experience, with young gun Eoin Healy, Dixie Buggy and the evergreen Ché Kennedy all emerging victorious, with Dixie holing the winning putt on 18 marking what was a very successful weekend for the auctioneer. Congratulations to manager Colum Lynch and good luck going forward.
