Castlecomer JB Carr team travelled to Dublin on Sunday to play South County Dublin champions Westmanstown in the Leinster quarter final.This was always going to be a challenging undertaking as the Westmanstown team had the home draw with all five scotch foursomes games on their home course.This advantage seen the home team playing excellent quality golf take the lead early on in all five games.However as always our team players playing some excellent golf themselves slowly but surely played their way back into contention. This trojan effort seen our team eventually win two of the five games and were unlucky as having lost two games also they were to lose the final game still in contention on the 17th green.Our team members on the day put up a gallant performance before losing the match to an exceptionally good Westmanstown team.The Castlecomer JB Carr team once again had a good campaign in this competition becoming Kilkenny county champions along the way. Well done to team manager Martin Brennan and his team members who represented our club with a great sense of pride and conviction throughout the campaign. Team players in Westmanstown were.
