PRESENTATION OF PRIZES
On Monday 6th October the outstanding prizes in the ladies competitions were presented by Lady Captain Noreen Curry who thanked the SPONSORS for their support.
She also thanked Competition Secretary Patricia Doheny for her hard work throughout the year.
President Delia O’Donohoe presented her Prize to winner Eileen Gunner and 2nd Prize to Edel Quirke, following a review of eligibility. It was a well attended and sociable event.

Play in Pink
Castlecomer Golf Club hosted a colourful ‘Play in Pink’ fundraiser on Monday 22nd September in aid of Breast Cancer Research.
Twenty-seven teams took part in glorious sunshine on our superbly prepared course, designed by the renowned Pat Ruddy, enjoying great golf and wonderful camaraderie.
A big thank you to our members and visiting teams for their support, the day proved a tremendous success. Together, we raised almost €2,000 for this very worthy cause.

Carton Cup Semi Final
Castlecomer played the semi final of this event on Sunday 21st September against Galway Bay Golf Club. It was a very closely contested 9 hole matchplay with 5 matches. The result was finally decided in a playoff on the 10th hole. Galway Bay emerged as winners and Castlecomer team were awarded the bronze medal.
We are very proud of the team and panel of players and manager Aileen Coughlan who brought us so far in this competition, and gave the large number of supporters who travelled to Carton House a most thrilling semi final.

VICE CAPTAINS OUTING TO TULFARRIS GC
On Tuesday 9th September Lady Vice Captain Aileen Coughlan and 44 ladies travelled to Tulfarris Golf Club to play in our annual ladies event .
Vice Captain Aileen did an excellent job in organising the day.
A singles and team event were played .

Leinster Trophy v Greystones GC
Castlecomer contested the semi final against Greystones on Sunday 14th September, who are defending their title. Unfortunately, we came up against a very strong in form Greystones team, who won the contest in a convincing manner. It was a very sporting match played in challenging weather conditions.
The team at home were: Breda Phelan Jo Costigan and Caroline Conway. Away team: Eileen Healy, Patricia Brennan and Delia O’Donohoe.
Thanks to the team managers Emer Foley and Mary Brophy, caddies and supporters and panel of players for all their time and commitment to representing our club in this competition.
Granard Cup
Our club was represented by Honoria Fogarty and Jo Costigan in this event on Thursday 11th September in Mullingar GC. Thanks to both for representing our club.
Winter Alliances
The winter alliances have begun.
On Monday 1st September in the CASTLECOMER ALLIANCE played in Cill Dara GC, Phil Dowling came 1st with 24 pts over 10 holes.
THE MIDLAND ALLIANCE on Monday 8th September was hosted by Castlecomer.Our representative Patricia Doheny did an excellent job in organising the day.
